Hi everyone, my name is Lavania and welcome to dorm tours. Let me show you around a room in University Hall, which is the dorm for, uh, all of our first year students. Um, we come over here this way and we have our study/getting ready area. All of the rooms here are split into two sections, which I really like.
They’re split into the living section and the study section. Each dorm is meant for two people, so as you can see here we have two desks. Uh, they’re set up really cool with these nice light-up mirrors and this candle warmer, which is really important because you’re not allowed to have burning candles in the dorms.
So if you want your dorm to smell nice, bring a candle warmer. It smells just like fall here. I love it so much. Another thing that you have to bring or you can bring if you want to is a fridge and a microwave. The university can provide it for you if you want to, but you could also just bring your own.
Also an important thing, make sure you bring your own chair. Uh, you could bring any kind of chair you want. We recommend that you bring one without arms so you can tuck it in nice and clean. If you follow me over here this way we could see the beds. Um, I love the beds that are set up this way. Um, you could have each roommate on one side and these beds are un-lockable.
Uh, these are set up all the way high so you could use a ladder to get up there, but sometimes they have them closer to the ground so you could just hop on over. One of the benefits of having it set up like this is you could have a little nice loft area down here. Have a futon here with these cute pillows, like a snack cart which is an essential for college.
And then this way you could have all of your other storage. Um, have a storage little container, hooks for hanging your bags, and then of course here we have our dressers that you could put your clothes in. One of the best things about dorms here is that you could decorate them however you want. You could put pictures up on the walls, lights up on the ceilings.
Doesn’t really matter, the sky’s the limit. One of the most important things is that you could also bring your own rug. Uh, the school doesn’t provide rugs for you so you could bring ones that, you know, match your theme. I love this pink one because it matches everything else here. Uh, you could also bring, let’s see, you can bring your own entertainment system.
This room doesn’t have one but you could bring a TV, you could bring a game system. I know people that have put up sheets on one wall and had a little projector so you could project movies onto the screen and have like a little movie theater. If you come over here, you can see that you have two closets, one per roommate.
Um, there’s like a cupboard here, and then two drawers at the bottom. You could hang stuff in your cupboards, put stuff down here. And one thing I really like is you can store stuff above the closet, so you have extra storage for out-of-season things like big coats, boots, you know, extra appliances that you don’t use.
