We’ll put it into a nice little bowl like this, and then the cook will add some more cheddar cheese, because obviously you can’t get enough of that here on campus…
Hey, everyone. I’m Maddie. I’m a senior here at Concordia University Wisconsin, and welcome to Campus Eats. So today, we are right here in the Falcon’s Nest, which is the heart of campus, and there’s tons of cool things in here, whether that be pool tables, board games, places to hang out. It’s pretty much the center of life here.
But the best thing about the Falcon’s Nest is the mac and cheese bar, where you can get this Wisconsin cheddar mac and cheese. This is the real deal, probably one of the best things here on campus. How do they make it? So it all starts right in front of you. You can pick and choose what you want in it. So I go with the classic fried chicken.
So what will happen is the cook will put some oil in the pan. We’ll add the fried chicken, kinda let that simmer for a little bit in the skillet. After that, she’ll add in the macaroni with some water, all to make sure that the noodles stay nice and soft. Then she adds on the Wisconsin cheddar cheese, sprinkled right on there.
Let that simmer, melt right onto the noodle. It is so good. And speaking of cheddar cheese, obviously, we’re in Wisconsin. We’re the cheese capital of the world, which, speaking of that, not even, like, 15 miles north of here is Plymouth, Wisconsin, which is responsible for 14% of the total cheese production in the entire world.
So we’re pretty much in, like, the capital of the capital of the capital of cheddar cheese. So once that’s all on there, then we add on some more cheddar cheese but more in a melted, liquidy form onto there, kinda like a nacho cheese-type feel. Then when all of that’s done, we’ll put it into a nice little bowl like this, and then it’s ready to eat.
