Ferdinand’s Ice Cream (with Noah)

Dorm Tour #0 from Washington State University - Pullman

Uh, our food science students, you can actually go up on our observation deck and look at the students making the ice cream, which I think is really cool

Hey there, y’all. Welcome to Campus Eats. My name is Noah, and I’m a senior here at Washington State University. And today we’re gonna be taking a look at Ferdinand, which was established in 1948 here at WSU. It got its name because on our dairy judging team, one of the individual’s middle name was actually Ferdinand, and at the same time, there was a movie coming out called Ferdinand the Bull by Disney, and it was just too much to ignore.

One of the cool things about Ferdinand’s here on campus is that from beginning to end, that product is made by students. For our animal science students, they’re the ones that are there taking care of those cows. Uh, our food science students, you can actually go up on our observation deck and look at the students making the ice cream, which I think is really cool.

And then one last thing, guess how much ice cream comes out of this building every year. 22,000 gallons

And that’s why. All right, y’all, we’ll see you later. Thanks for coming
