Career Preparation with Nicklas

Segment #1 from Keiser University

Transcript

Hi, everyone. I always had a big dream of competing at the Division I level, and I managed to do that. But after a year, I wanted more, so I transferred and found my true happy place here at Keiser, while also getting the chance to pursue my dream career. I started my college career at a big Division I program, and on paper, it was everything I wanted.

But after a long year with a lot of ups and downs, I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. I wasn’t just looking to be another time at the scoreboard. I wanted to grow as a person, not just as an athlete. When I entered the transfer portal, I wanted to find a place where I could be seen, pushed, and supported all at the same time, and I managed to do that here at Keiser University.

It truly feels like a big family. Along with being a student athlete, I got the opportunity to work with Keiser’s marketing team, specifically in social media. This gives me hands-on experience that will prepare me for a successful career after I graduate. Being a part of the championship culture we have at Keiser pushed me in ways I didn’t expect, not just in the pool, but creatively and professionally.

I’ve learned how to work as part of a team, handle pressure, and create content that actually connects with people. Looking ahead, I wanna build a career in content creation and production right here in the US, and Keiser has already given me that foundation. I’ve had opportunities to create real content and projects, not just assignments, and that’s the kind of experience that make you feel like you’re already building a career.

That’s a wrap.
