Public Service in Action with Chase

Segment #6 from Indiana State University

Transcript

Hi, everyone. Choosing to attend Indiana State University is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’m grateful every day that this is the place where I’ve been able to learn, grow, and prepare for what comes next in my life. Coming from a small high school in a small town, I knew that I wanted a place where I could get involved, build connections, and be supported.

From the first time I visited campus, I knew that Indiana State was the place for me. Here, you’re not just another face in the crowd. You can build genuine relationships with faculty, staff, and other students who want to see you succeed. This support has helped shape my experience in many important ways.

In my degree programs, I learned from professionals whose guidance has helped prepare me for law school and a future in public service. Outside of the classroom, I’ve gotten involved all across campus, challenged myself, and grown in confidence as both a student and a leader. One of the greatest honors I’ve had during my time at Indiana State has been serving as Student Government Association president.

In that role, I’ve worked closely with students, faculty, staff, and administrators, and I’ve seen firsthand how much this university values student voices. This experience, combined with challenging coursework in legal studies and political science, has given me the knowledge and confidence I needed to run for county office back home.

What makes Indiana State unique is that they meet you where you are and help you take the next step in the direction you want to go. This university has challenged me, supported me, and helped make me into the person I am today. I hope you’ll check it out for yourself.
