Hi, everyone. My National University story began while I was actively serving in the military. At the time, my wife Nicole and I were raising our five daughters, so life was busy. Education has always been a priority in our family, so we decided to pursue our degrees and invest in our future. One of the main reasons we chose National University is because they understand the military lifestyle.

NU was founded in 1971 by a US Navy veteran, and supporting service members and their families has always been part of the mission. Flexibility also made a big difference. Depending on the program, NU offers courses that can be taken online, on site, or even on base. This allowed me to continue my education while serving active duty.

Their military advising team also helped guide us through enrollment, benefits, and academic planning. Financially, NU serves the military community as well. Active duty members receive about 50% off tuition, and veterans, spouses, and dependents can qualify for 25% scholarships. NU also offers credit for military experience up to 90 semester units, shortening your time to graduation.

NU is also a Yellow Ribbon school that accepts the Post-9/11 GI Bill, is the number one provider of higher education to US Marines nationwide, and has a student body that is 25% military. What I appreciate most is the support system. NU’s Veteran Center helps military students transition into higher education, and many programs are VA approved in fields like nursing, business, psychology, criminal justice, teaching, and computer science.

Today, Nicole and I are both repeat NU students and graduates. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees here, and Nicole earned her associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. Now, we’re both pursuing our doctorates in business administration while raising our five daughters. That’s our story. Thanks for listening.
