Dayton Complex (with Makayla Hines & Finn Styles)

Dorm Tour #4 from University of Nevada, Las Vegas

I’ve got a ton of Funko Pops. I got this from my mom for Christmas. It’s a little Spiderman collectible that my brother and I both have matching ones of. I’ve got a ton of artwork and paintings that my boyfriend has done, and then I’ve got them from Comic-Con and First Friday, which is an art exhibit here.

  • Hey, everyone!
  • Welcome to Dorm Tours.
  • My name’s Makayla.
  • And my name’s Finn. And we go to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and we live in Dayton North.
  • And we’ve known each other since high school. We love each other so much, so we decided to room together. So here is our room. First, we have our desk, and this is my calendar with my entire schedule on it so Finn can always know where I’m at. And then here we have our calendar and just our corkboard with our inspirational quotes that our friends have made for us. And we have our, we have the names of people we want to invite to a kickball event that we’re trying to put on.

And then, moving on to my desk area I have my vision board that I love so much. I love making vision boards, I love getting my goals out there. And I have my paintings. I have this painting from an RHA event because me and Finn are on the eBoard for the Residence Hall Association.

And then, moving on, to our fridge. I love to meal prep, so I meal prep for me and Finn each week and I store it in this fridge right here. These are snacks that all our friends love to come and steal.

Then moving on to the bed. I love my bed so much. I love to sleep. I’m always sleeping if I’m not in class. And I love this pillow because my sister got it for me the day that I moved in and I hold it dear to my heart.

And then, moving on, I have my storage and more snacks down here, my Crocs, and then I have my ottoman. I always recommend getting an ottoman. My friends sit on it, I hold my blankets in there, love it to death.

And then here is our clos… I mean, our bathroom! Excuse me. And then, we share it with our suite mate across the way. And I love it because it’s not communal and it’s very private and it just is the best.

And then here’s our TV and our storage unit. It has all our communal things, like plates and utensils, I have my hair supplies, you know. And then, I also have our TV here, which everyone loves because we have amazing movie nights all the time. So, yeah, and now I’ll pass it to Finn to do his side.

  • All right, so for my side, starting off, I have this collection of poetry books that I’ve been collecting from the last couple of, like, year or two. Just my favorite artist, Rupi Kaur. I’ve got a ton of pictures of, like, my best friend, my boyfriend, family members. I’ve got a ton of Funko Pops. I got this from my mom for Christmas. It’s a little Spiderman collectible that my brother and I both have matching ones of. I’ve got a ton of artwork and paintings that my boyfriend has done and then I’ve got from Comic-Con and First Friday, which is an art exhibit here.

Another great thing, comfortable blankets. I love fuzzy blankets, they’re my favorite thing in the world. I don’t sleep under comforters, so this is top tier right here. A laptop. I use it and watch stuff, every night, ‘cause I like to block out everybody outside.

All of my storage space, it’s got all my toiletries, everything good there. You know, gotta stay clean. My skateboard, I use it to get around campus all the time, and just hang out, have fun. Yeah!

  • We got to the closet! It has so much space. Literally, all of my shoes, all of my clothes that I brought from home.

Moving on to the sink area. This is just where we brush our teeth, basically and look at each other in the mirror. And then, we also have this poster, or flier. What do you call this? I don’t know. But, a faculty member gave it to us and we love it so much because it’s just so cute, and so, yeah!

And moving on to our amazing study room.

  • Oh, yeah, it’s amazing, great view, really comfortable. We go there to study, hang out with friends, just, you know, enjoy being on campus and living campus life.
  • Vibing out.
  • Yeah.

Thank you guys!

  • And then, for one thing that I say that we that anyone should take, to them, with them to college, is a picture of someone that they just love and hold dear to their heart. I have a picture of my niece right here and my roommate has a picture of his boyfriend. And I just think that when you’re just low on energy and you’re forgetting why you’re doing this, you know…
  • It keeps you pushing.
  • You know, exactly, exactly, it really does because I remember who’s watching me and who I’m getting this degree for.
  • Yep.
  • So, yeah.
  • Thank you guys so much.
  • Thank you!
  • Thanks for watching college tours.
  • Bye, guys!
