Hey, guys! Welcome to Dorm Tours! I’m Harlee, and this is my twin sister, Reese.
Hi!
We’re going to be showing you around our room today. We go to Roanoke College, and this is a dorm in Marion, and we’re both sophomores here, so… We love our room. We’re going to show you around. I’m going to show you the first half, and then Reese is going to take over for the rest.
So starting over here, this is our ottoman. You need an ottoman in your room. Your friends are going to come hang out. They’re going to want to sit somewhere, but also, get one that doubles for storage. We keep our blankets inside.
This little magnet board here, I just like to keep reminders, we put our grocery list there, some photos of some things…
Coming over this way, this is my bed. I have a memory foam mattress topper. I highly recommend. It’s so comfortable. You need a mattress topper. No matter where you go, your bed’s probably not going to be comfortable, so get a topper. Looking over at the artwork, our mom and us, me love to go thrifting and make artwork and different things, so we thrifted the mirrors, and the paintings above our beds, my mom made them, she painted the frames. She also made the ones over top of my sister Reese’s bed. She like connected the things together. Over here, we just have some photos of our friends from high school, things we do over the summer. Just reminds us of things from home. The picture in the middle there is my dad, in the Grand Canyon.
And then over here’s our little kitchenette. We love being able to have, like, just drinks in our room, snacks, microwave popcorn, if we need to, in our room, and not have to go try to find it somewhere else. And then this is my sister’s bed. She keeps all the snacks underneath, and all of, like, the cleaning supplies. Definitely something you want to remember to bring to school, stuff to clean with, you’re going to make a mess through some way. But yeah! Reese is going to take over now.
I’ll take over my side. So, one thing I love about my side of the room is I have a lamp right next to my bed so I don’t have to get up when I’m super tired to turn the light off, it’s right there, super quick. I also love the curtains over the window because I want it dark in here when I’m sleeping so I can sleep because, I need my sleep.
Over here, something super great about our suite is, we have a sink, right literally right here, like so close. Also in this dorm is our little bathroom, that we share with two other people, so we don’t have to go far to use the bathroom, it’s super sweet.
Here’s a little piece from home. We grew up, like, in a farm town, so like, every month we get to see a little piece from home, which is super awesome.
Moving this way is Harlee’s desk, she does her homework. Some decorations. This is from an NCAA soccer tournament. We both play soccer here, so it was just great because we got to go see, watch the teams play, and it was super fun.
And now, we come to the closets! They’re huge and we get to put all our clothes, and Harlee brought all her shoes… And there’s super great storage on top, and you know, us girls, we need our room, for our clothes.
