Hey, everyone. We’re here at Campus Eats. I’m Victoria and I’m a sophomore here at Our Lady of the Lake University. It is really cool. I can’t wait. She’s gonna get into, they call this the Victoria Bowl, literally after her- … because it’s, like, so popular on campus. But I think it’s good to give a little history lesson of where we are.
So, we’re at Sister Annie B.’s Cafe, which is in the main building of this amazing institution, which is the original oldest building on campus, built in the late 1800s. Fascinating. But Sister Annie B., you know, one of the older, you know, sisters, she goes back, uh, a ways at this institution, worked here for 50 years.
And if I’m correct, she knew every student by name. She knew everything they wanted to order, so when they would see a s- she would see a student coming by, she’d already start making whatever dish that they wanted, ’cause she knew every student and what they wanted to eat. And then there was some other history that you were telling me about before we started recording.
Oh, it’s like when… There was… She loved the students so much that certain students would have classes in the morning and couldn’t make it to breakfast, so she would squirrel away some, like, blueberry muffins or different items, so when they got out of class they could still get their breakfast. So, she cared deeply about the students, knew everything they wanted, and I think it’s a great representation of what this institution’s all about.
Because, if I’m correct, y’all care about each other, and y’all look out for each other- … and y’all know each other by name. So, but more importantly, I gotta stop talking. This is your show here. Talk about why the chicken bowl is so amazing. So, this right here is our chicken bowl that we have. It’s… You can style it however you want.
You just go up and ask them whatever ingredients you want. I personally prefer it this way. So what I do first is I have them put some white rice in there, and then they go in with chicken, and then they go in with the lettuce. And I personally like a lot of cheese, so I ask for double cheese on mine. And then they go in with the tortilla strips on top, and it’s just perfect.
I love it. Take a bite. Tell the audience how awesome it is. Actually, I should be the one taking a bite. But, no, it’s your lunch. So good. It’s great. And that’s why they call it the Victoria Bowl here. That was pretty awesome. Thanks for doing this. Thank you. Fun times. We’ll see you next time on Campus Eats.
