Life in Scrubs

Segment #6 from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College

Transcript

Sarah grew up in a small town and wanted to go to college somewhere that offered a close-knit community and small class sizes. And she wanted to follow her passion for helping people in the healthcare field. She found it all at ABAC School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Let’s go Sarah.

– Thanks Alex. Growing up in a small town, I always loved having that close-knit community and wanted to find a college that felt like home. After taking a tour of ABAC on Stallion Day, I knew I found the place. The ABAC Nursing Program has opened so many doors for me. The program offers so many great events for us to attend throughout our semesters. Outside the classroom, I service as the Vice President of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students Club, where we give fellow nursing students a chance to come and listen to guest speakers from all different types of nursing specialties. ABAC also hosts a career fair every fall semester for healthcare students. Here, we get to come and see hospitals from all across the state and see what type of job opportunities they have to offer. Not only has ABAC provided me with the best classmates and lifelong friends, but they have also given me prime examples of what type of nurse I want to be. From time spent studying here, to clinical rotations at the local hospital and to hours logged in our simulation lab, ABAC nursing will make sure that you are prepared to save lives. With our smaller class sizes, we are able to have a more personal relationship with our professors, all line for better communication over the material. When I first started looking for colleges, I had no idea if I would find a place for me, a place that felt like home. Here at ABAC, not only have I found a home, I have found my friends, my mentors, and myself. All right Alex, that’s a long enough study break. Back to the books.

– Thanks, Sarah. Nursing and Health Sciences at ABAC is so impressive, because it has so many options and especially in nursing. Getting that individual attention with small class sizes is so important and you have figured that out. Great job.
