Jordan, a freshman from Lingle, Wyoming appreciates the welcoming atmosphere at Casper College, and has made wonderful friends along the way. As a psychology major, she has also been able to pursue her passion for music, and was even awarded a music scholarship. Jordan, we cannot wait to hear about your experience, please take it away.
– Thanks, Alex. My high school was small, so I didn’t always fit in. I had some pretty serious mental health issues at the time, and school was one of the reasons. Thankfully, I got help from my fantastic counselor who inspired my degree choice in psychology. Casper College has always been a great option for me, and I’m so glad I’m attending school here. When I first stepped foot on campus, I could tell right away that this was a wonderful environment. The staff is terrific. The students are all so diverse, and everyone is so accepting. I have a great group of friends who love to go on late night drives and spend hours longboarding on campus. My roommate, Alexa, is one of the most amazing people I’ve met, and I’m so lucky to have someone like her to make me feel like I belong. I’m currently on a music scholarship, which is amazing. I’m making the best memories in the two choirs I’m in, and the voice lessons I’m taking. ♪ The pine and fir ♪ ♪ Their branches low ♪ I couldn’t be more grateful to be granted such an amazing opportunity. No matter who you are, you belong here, I promise. If you need somewhere to go, Casper College is one of the most accepting places. This campus has many resources like a STEM lab and a writing center, but the one thing we’re most privileged to have is our campus counselors, who will help you through anything. At Casper College, you are not alone. After graduation, I plan to go to the University of Wyoming to pursue my degree in psychology, and become a therapist to help others just like my counselor helped me. Casper College is a key element in this, and I believe everybody here will do amazing things when they leave. Well, that’s it. Back to you, Alex.
– Jordan, thank you for sharing your experiences. For the 2023, 24 school year alone, Casper College and the Casper College Foundation provided nearly $14 million in financial aid. Absolutely incredible. Keep up the great work, Jordan, and thanks again.
Introducing Alex from Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. Alex is a freshman studying secondary education. Alex is here to tell us about his great learning experiences, the affordability, and the hands-on learning opportunities he has had. Most importantly, Casper College has helped Alex regain his love of learning. Alex, the floor is all yours.
– Thanks, Alex. What’s up, everybody? I never knew what I wanted to do after high school. All I knew is that my high school made me hate education, but Casper College made me love learning again. My high school experience wasn’t great, but I did have some good instructors who inspired me. Without them, I would’ve never pursued a teaching degree, and at Casper College, I’m loving learning again. The people here are so nice and care about your education. I have made friendships that I can see lasting a lifetime. My education instructor talks to us every day about our lives and what we are learning in other classes. She even has a secret handshake, with every student. And students, like me, have a lot of hands-on learning opportunities. One of my favorite projects is when we had to teach our class about Halloween, we had to design a game and teach it to the class, and that was so much fun. These hands-on opportunities help us get practical experience along with what we’re learning in the classroom. Another thing I like about Casper College is it’s affordability. They make it so easy for me to come to college. Without the Hathaway and FAFSA Scholarships I received, I wouldn’t be here. In terms of financial aid, Casper College provides a variety of options. There’s federal aid, state scholarships, institutional and foundation scholarships, and even student employment. Casper College also support veterans and active duty military personnel, giving them various forms of educational assistance. Overall, Casper College works to make sure students have access to the necessary financial resources to help manage the cost of their education. After Casper, I plan on attending the University of Wyoming for my last two years. My time here has made a significant impact on my learning, which has been amazing. Now, back to you, Alex.
– Alex, great job. Since you came to Casper you’ve regained your love for learning, made some incredible friends, and had some really interesting hands-on activities. Keep up the amazing work and take care.
When Keely Shaye graduated from high school in Glenrock, Wyoming, she initially decided to attend a university. However, she later chose to come to Casper College. Now studying to become a nurse, she found exactly what she needed here, the opportunity to form close connections with her instructors and classmates. Keely Shaye, we can’t wait to hear about your experience. Please take it away.
– Hey, Alex, thanks for having me. After graduating high school in 2020, I decided to leave my small town to attend a university, but after a year, I decided to transfer to Casper College, and it’s been the best decision for me. Here in the Nursing Program, I spend a lot of time studying with my peers. We reserve rooms in the library for hours. I love that the library is a short walk on campus, and they offer us snacks for when the hours pass by. Our labs are open most hours of the day, and we have a ton of mannequins to practice on. This really helps us learn our skills while being in a relaxed learning environment. After this, we usually go get some coffee or snacks and enjoy our downtime. Being in a smaller school has allowed me to make more genuine connections with my classmates and instructors. Not only do I feel seen, but I feel heard as well. My instructors know me by name, and I know all of my classmates’ names. Building relationships isn’t always easy, but here it feels natural and inviting to know those around you. At Casper College, it’s really easy to get involved. And with so much schoolwork, it’s nice to have fun opportunities. We get weekly emails about cornhole tournaments, free movie tickets, school plays, and pottery painting sessions. I get to have fun while being involved with my college and friends. The nursing program has taught me the knowledge and skills I will use on the job. And for clinicals, we go out into the community, such as home health, hospitals, and clinics. I’m very excited to continue my educational and social journey here at Casper College. That’s my story. Back to you, Alex.
– Thank you, Keely Shaye. Casper College not only offers an excellent nursing program, but also provides students with a variety of free time activities. It sounds like you’ve excelled in your coursework thanks to the small class sizes, dedicated instructors, and the opportunity to build friendships with your peers, we can’t wait to see what you do next. Thanks again.
Valerie is a sophomore majoring in Geology with a minor in Geographic Information Systems. She is from Casper, and has been helped by the excellent support system on campus, including the Student Success Center. Thanks to the scholarships she received, Valerie will graduate debt free. Amazing. Valerie, tell us more about your journey.
– You rock, Alex, thanks for the gneiss introduction. In high school, I was considered homeless, and as an independent student, I didn’t have anyone to help me get started in my college journey, but the TRIO program helped guide me to Casper College. An admissions rep helped me sign up with ease. They even helped me fill out my FAFSA form. There is truly an amazing support system here. The Student Success Center is full of resources to help students with whatever they need. On top of that, Casper College awards approximately $3.8 million in scholarships and grants a year. Because of the scholarships and grants I have received, I’m able to graduate debt free, even as a dual major. When I registered for geology as one my majors, I didn’t realize the multitude of unique and fun experiences I’d have. A notable experience was attending a class in the same room as a mammoth skeleton. It’s all right here on campus, in the very unique Tate Geological Museum. I also had a chance to dig up dinosaur bones with one of my instructors. It was an amazing experience where I met some of the world’s top paleontologists. Working alongside these experts really deepened my understanding of paleontology and made the job unforgettable. I was even lucky enough to keep a tiny chunk of a triceratops rib. The instructors here have provided us with real world experiences and connections. Being a STEM major has been so influential on my life. My experiences here will help me in my career and everyday life. I’ve gained an understanding about how beautiful and amazing our world is. Well, it’s about time I mica my way out of here. See you on the rock slide, Alex.
– Thank you, Valerie for a look inside the impressive Tate Geological Museum, V the Mammoth is amazing, and having the opportunity to participate on a dinosaur dig sounds fantastic. Casper College does have a wonderful support system in place for all students, and the Student Success Center is there to help every single student. Take care, Valerie.
Jael from Casper, Wyoming is a freshman chemistry major and a midfielder on the college’s soccer team. Jael has been able to juggle sports and schoolwork thanks to all the help available through the college’s STEM Learning Center, tutors in the residence hall, and caring instructors. Jael, tell us all about it.
– Thank you, Alex. How’s it going guys? If you told me I would end up at Casper College six years ago, I wouldn’t believe you. If you asked me about Casper College now, I could go on forever how great it is. Coming from such a caring community at my local high school, transitioning to college has been a breeze. The support from every staff member, from the academic advisors, to the lunch ladies, to the instructors, is unbelievable. As a soccer player, I was nervous, since being a student athlete is known to be a challenge, especially when trying to balance work and sports while traveling at the same time. But at Casper, it is so easy, and all my instructors have my back. I’m a chemistry major, which can be very challenging, but with office hours, a STEM Learning Center and dorm tutors, the resources here have made it less stressful than I expected. All these different things have allowed me to excel in the sport I love at the highest level possible, during practice and in games. On top of the resources, Casper College also features stunning scenery, impressive buildings, and even a neon thunderbird that lights up the night. This campus is amazing inside and out, but the best part for me is the financial aid. CC helps ease the cost of college by providing a website with exclusive scholarships for students, making sure we have what we need financially. As I move forward, I’m excited to continue my journey at Casper College with the help of my amazing instructors and people around me. I’ve learned so much, and had the best time with my teammates. That’s all I got for y’all, back to you, Alex.
– Thank you, Jael for taking the time out of your busy day to chat with us. Casper College boasts six sports teams, men’s and women’s soccer, basketball, rodeo, and women’s volleyball. The college provides its student athletes with comprehensive training and support to ensure their success, both in their sports and academics. Jael, thanks again for sharing your story. That was awesome.
Let’s check in with a recent graduate, Kai. Kai hails from Casper, Wyoming, and graduated with a degree in Forensic Science. She’s now working on her Health Science and Nursing Degrees. Her experience with the instructors and staff was one she will never forget. Kai, fill us in.
– Thank you, Alex. Howdy, everyone. Choosing Casper College was about taking charge of my future, from enrolling in the High School Equivalency Program at just 17, to graduating with honors in Forensic Science, I had everything I needed to push myself further than I ever thought possible. Now, I’m pursuing nursing here in the hopes of becoming a forensic nurse. I’ve come to know Casper College as more than just a place for academics, it’s been a community for me. What truly made my time here special was the support I found. The small class sizes meant I could actually get to know my professors and ask questions without feeling intimidated. From fingerprinting to understanding the intricacies of the legal system, I knew I’d be prepared for my next step. Pursuing forensic nursing won’t be easy, but I know I’ll have support every step of the way. Whether that’s in the classroom, the sim center, or during hands-on clinicals, I know I’ll be able to count on my professors and peers to help guide me through the challenges of nursing school. The Forensic Science Program gave me a real taste of what it’s like to think on my feet and handle stressful situations, skills I know I’ll need in nursing. My professors always pushed me to go beyond what was expected, which helped me build the confidence I’ll need to face whatever comes next. As I look ahead, I’m excited to face these new challenges in the Nursing Program. I’m living proof that no matter where you start, with the support of a community like this one, anything is possible. And education is about more than just exams and textbooks, it’s about pursuing your dreams, but that’s enough about me. Back to you, Alex.
– Kai, it is clear that you received an excellent education in forensic science at Casper College, as you are now enrolled in the Nursing Program. Casper boasts one of the finest nursing schools in the area, and is one of the few to feature a fully accredited simulation center. Thank you for sharing your amazing story, take care.

– Thank you, Alex. Welcome to Wyoming, everyone. I have always wanted to help people, from working at different colleges, in the fast food industry, and as a certified nursing assistant. Seeing people safe and happy has always been my passion. At Casper College, I can earn a degree where I can continue to help those around me. My passion for helping others continues in my desire to help other students. Helping other students means sharing knowledge, offering support, and fostering a collaborative environment. It involves tutoring, providing steady resources, and encouraging peers. This enhances learning experiences and builds community, making our education more enriching and enjoyable for everyone. Casper College has an atmosphere of genuine appreciation and love for its students. From your first admissions council to beyond graduation, the staff truly care for you every step of the way, mentally, physically, and emotionally. To me, helping other students goes beyond the classroom. It’s going out of your way to say hello, studying together, inviting others to activities, or just sharing a smile. We are all on this journey together, so helping each other whenever possible is a must. At Casper College, students have a multitude of opportunities to be involved. Students can join organizations that have their desires, beliefs, and interests at heart. Whether you’re into running, eSports, fire science, dance, or anything in between, there’s something for everyone. For me, it’s student government, which keeps me busy as the freshman representative. I also work as a student ambassador in the Admissions and Student Success Office, which is another great way I stay involved. A college education is more than just learning skills for a job. It’s learning how to interact with people. At Casper College, I have met people from all over the world, which has improved my skills as a CNA and a student. Alex, back to you.
– Dawsen, thank you for providing some great examples of all the activities that students can be involved in at Casper College. It’s definitely a campus that provides opportunities for students, not just in the classroom, but in student life and government, thanks again.
Lucy Jane comes to Casper College from Clark, Wyoming. She’s majoring in journalism communications, and holds two work study jobs that allows her to gain photography skills in the public relations office and develop strong interpersonal skills. Lucy Jane, we cannot wait to hear what you’ve been up to. Please take it away.
– Thanks, Alex. Hey, everyone. When I first applied to Casper College, my main goal was to be closer to my boyfriend. However, I quickly fell in love with Casper, because of the amazing hands-on learning opportunities and portfolio building that would prepare me for a successful journalism and mass media career. Casper College is giving me skills and a strong portfolio that’ll give me a competitive edge after graduation. Many of these are thanks to my two work study jobs and the school newspaper. Working in public relations, I get to document and bring to life all the outstanding events on campus, through athletic live streams and photography for campus events, ranging from theater productions to wildlife biology labs. Public relations is helping my photography skills flourish, and teaching me important skills, especially quick problem solving. Working in student life is strengthening my interpersonal skills, and offering opportunities to build my portfolio through event photography and social media management. The school newspaper, “The Chinook”, allows me to wear the mini hats of a journalist. I keep my writing and interviewing skills sharp with every story, and learn newspaper layout and design. But my all time favorite part is planning, shooting, and designing photo stories. CC is large enough to provide a variety of hands-on learning opportunities while still being small enough that every student can take advantage of those opportunities. There’s a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities, whether it be an on-campus work study job, or practical classes. While I came here for a boy, I stayed for the outstanding opportunities that are preparing me for a media career right after graduation. This has been Lucy Jane Crimm with your college tour review. Thank you, and back to you, Alex.
– Thank you, Lucy Jane, it is easy to see why you love Casper College, and thank you for telling us about your work study opportunities, and working on the student newspaper, “The Chinook”. Best of luck in all your future endeavors, that was great.
Wyatt, a freshman majoring in secondary education, aspires to become a history teacher. Having grown up in a small town, he values the close relationships he’s developed with his teachers and classmates. An outdoor enthusiast, Wyatt loves exploring the many hiking trails around Casper, and taking advantage of the excellent fly fishing opportunities. Take it away, Wyatt.
– Thanks, Alex. Hey, y’all. I came to Casper College to study secondary education, and teach history, a subject I have loved ever since I was a little kid. I was always a little bit nervous about college, but now I know I made the right choice. I grew up in a really small town, so I really love the small classroom sizes here at Casper. I really feel connected to my instructors and my fellow classmates. Whether you’re a part-time student, who’s only taken a few classes, or a full-time student who’s living in the dorms like me, feeling connected and making friends is super easy. Casper College offers over 130 academic transfer and technical programs so you can get your certificate or associate’s degree in just about anything. More importantly though, Casper College has a great education program. In my first year here, they sent me right into the field to observe at the local high schools where I’ve met some amazing teachers. I’ve also learned about the Help Yourself Academy. At HYA, I helped teach third to fifth graders where I get some great hands-on classroom experience. I also know that I’m teaching up to the national standard. CC makes it super easy to transfer to a four year university to get your state license. Thanks to the Secondary Education Program here, I feel prepared to be a teacher. Casper also has some great natural beauty, and I love being outdoors. Just off campus, there’s a stunning mountain that me and my friends love to explore. It’s got some awesome trails with some great hidden gems and some beautiful views. There’s also the North Platte River that runs right through town, which is known for some of the best fly fishing in the state of Wyoming, with some absolute massive trout to catch. So far my experience here has been full of great hands-on experience and nature. Whatever your next plan is, whether it be a four year university or a job, Casper College ensures that you are ready. Go T-Birds! And back to you, Alex.
– Wyatt, wow, thank you for taking us around Casper. You are right, the mountains are beautiful, and the recreational opportunities are outstanding. Your involvement in the Help Yourself Academy for third through fifth graders is so inspiring. The help you and your fellow students provide these young learners is awesome. Thank you again for sharing your story.
