Let’s catch up with Mitch, a TJC graduate, whose story is all about how TJC provides a college experience like no other and has been doing so for nearly 100 years. Mitch and other members of his family are living proof that TJC is the right first choice for any student. Tell us more, Mitch.

– Thank you, Alex. I’ve spent much of my life here at TJC since my father was head football coach here at the college. I met my wife here on first day of freshman orientation, graduated in 1983, and have been back at my favorite alma mater, serving this institution for 23 years. I am living proof that TJC provides a comprehensive collegiate experience that prepares its students for successful careers and lives. For nearly a century, TJC is focused on developing the whole student through excellent academics, extensive student life opportunities, and a culture of caring that empowers individuals to build successful futures. Since 1926, TJC has grown from 93 students to more than 19,000 annually and offers more than 120 degree and certificate programs, including several baccalaureate degrees. With class sizes averaging 18 students and a cost is a third of public universities, TJC is the region’s top choice for higher education, whether moving on to a university or riding to the workforce, TJC is the right first choice for any student. It was for me, my wife, my parents, and many members of my family. As the workforce evolved, so as TJC, almost 50% of our students are pursuing in demand careers through healthcare, technology, industrial, and professional opportunities. Students prepare for their chosen career and go directly into the workforce. TJC provides well-trained graduates to serve regional business and industry. Student success drives community success. TJC provides an exceptional comprehensive collegiate experience, with stellar performing arts and award-winning Speech and Debate team, a growing Honors Program in NJCAA Division I Athletics, TJC provides a rich student life. I benefited from the nurturing and caring environment, high quality academics, and student life opportunities at TJC. There really is no better place to be. Here’s to the next 100 years, Alex.
