Barton Hall (with Emma & Kate Killian)

Dorm Tour #3 from University of Illinois

Another thing that we love about our desks is that they have a mirror to get ready in. And they also have a corkboard so that we can pin up pictures…

Hi, I’m Kate! And I’m Emma! We are freshmen at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and we’re going to show you our dorm in Barton Hall. Come on in!

So this is our dorm room. We live in a double in Barton. Barton also has singles. Each dorm room comes with a bed, a desk, a chair, and a little, like, shelving unit.

So, here is my desk. As you can see, we have a lot of Valentine’s Day decorations up. We like decorating for all of the holidays in here.
One great thing about the desks is they come with tons of storage. We have these four big drawers, and it has plenty of room to put all of your stuff. Another thing that we love about our desks is that they have a mirror to get ready in, and they also have a corkboard so that we can pin up pictures.

Over here are our beds. You can either… we chose to bunk our beds, but you can loft them, or leave them on the ground, too. Bunking them gave us a lot of room.

So, in addition to everything that the university provides, we also brought a mini fridge, a microwave and a little snack rolley cart, because we wanted to have lots of room for our food.

And we also brought this extra shelving unit to put our TV on. And, so you can see that, like, we have plenty of room to put all of our stuff and plenty of outlets, so we have lots of room to personalize. We also brought a chair so that we can watch movies! Yes!

Barton Hall has a communal bathroom style, so we share two showers and two bathrooms with about 15 other girls, because it’s a smaller-sized dorm.

Barton is also an all-girls dorm, and we connect through the basement with an all-boys dorm, Lundgren, across the way.
And, apart from the things we’ve shown you in here, in the basement we share a lounge study area, the laundry room and a music practice room.

So, yeah, that’s pretty much it. Thank you so much for visiting our dorm! Bye, everyone!
